​Day 1: Policy Discussion
This interactive session is designed to support informed dialogue on policy and implementation challenges and will consist of presentations, panel discussions and audience Q&A. Taking place after ANU Energy Update 2026: Beyond Hormuz - Australia and the new energy geopolitics (register separately here).

 

Day 2: Workshop
A day specifically for social science researchers and those with a keen interest in their research. The workshop will include discussions, presentations and interactive sessions focused on current and emerging energy research and energy challenges. This day will showcase research from across Australia, explore dynamics shaping energy transitions and create space for reflective discussion across disciplines and sectors.

The third Australian Ocean Renewable Energy Symposium (AORES) brings together industry, researchers, policymakers, and other stakeholders to foster collaboration and support the growth of the Australian ocean renewable energy sector, spanning wave, tidal, river and ocean currents, OTEC, and hybrid systems. The symposium will feature keynote presentations from leading international and industry experts, providing a global context for Australian developments.
